Knucklehead: Def.~signing an agreement without Counsel

Too many times I have prospective clients come to me with the most god-awful agreements seeking help in getting it modified. In almost every case the prospective client is well educated, and earning an above average income. How in the world they decided to sign an agreement without an attorneys advice and counsel is beyond me: alimony for life with no ability to modify for any reason ~ Wow! joint custody that is completely ones-sided, with no support despite dramatically disparate incomes ~ college with no cap on the amount to be paid ~ Wow! Don't do your own dentistry, surgery, engineering or legal work if you are not working in your profession and even then don't do it!

A blog story today shows the problem with Class Action litigation but you can't throw the baby out with the bath water, i.e. we need the attorney general watchdog status but the cost(s) seem too steep ~ maybe a little extra needed for class status and offer of judgment early on?
